A reception, hosted by the Associated Students of Skyline College and the Center for Student Life and Leadership Development, was held after the ceremony in the Student and Community Center how to use lambswool in pointe shoes. A North Carolina School of Fine Arts graduate, Steivel continued his studies on full scholarship with the American School of Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and the Harkness House for Ballet Arts. He has trained and worked under some of dance’s most famous teachers and choreographers including George Balanchine, Alexandra Danilova, Anton Dolin, Andre Eglevsky, David Howard, Jiri Kylian, Roland Petit, Heinz Spoerli, and Ben Stevenson. As a dancer, Steivel has danced every major role in the classical repertoire, including Romeo in “Romeo and Juliet,” Albrecht in “Giselle,” Franz in “Coppelia,” and the Prince in “Nutcracker.” how to use lambswool in pointe shoes.
As a choreographer, Steivel has created numerous ballets and 17 during his tenure with Nevada Ballet Theatre, including his own version of “The Nutcracker,” “Peter Pan,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and “Dracula.” Steivel brings a wealth of experience teaching and managing ballet curricula on both a national and international scale.
